“Monster High” – Dolls
The company Mattel has been producing its world-famous ‘Barbie doll’ for over 60 years.
In 2010, Mattel came up with a new idea and launched the ‘Monster High’ doll project inspired by horror films and Gothic fiction: at the heart of the campaign are fashion dolls which depict the offspring of famous monsters such as Dracula or Frankenstein or resemble zombies or werewolves and therefore differ from the normal ‘Barbie dolls’.
The ‘Monster High’ project lasted 9 years and was a great success. The dolls found lots of fans and the exceptional dolls also appealed to collectors. Production has now been discontinued, much to the disappointment of the fan community.
At the Doll Art Museum at Hochstraße 20 in 2540 Bad Vöslau, you can admire a wide range of these exhibits.
